With the 3rd Uganda Conference on Cancer and Palliative Care going virtual, the ability to deliver conference proceedings to all delegates around the country is one of the things the organizing committee is looking at seriously.
Palliative Care and Cancer care providers are scattered across the country and due to the current surge of COVID-19, these cannot make it to attend in person as earlier planned. In addition, there is an increased demand of services in the different hospitals all over the country.
Therefore, to enable these providers and Palliative Care champions to participate in the conference, the committee agreed to establish satellite facilities in the different regions of Uganda including the Western Region, Northern Region, Central Region and Eastern Region.
We are very optimistic that this will enable people to be part of the 2days conference and avoid incidents of poor connectivity and issues with technology as well as enable delegates share lessons learned among themselves.
Contact the conference secretariat to know more about how you can attend or support a health worker to attend the conference at a satellite facility.
